Preston’s Electronic Music Open Mic (EMOM) at The Ferret.

Slots are up to 20 minutes. Some pre-booked slots have gone but we do have a few left – so email [email protected] to grab one. Additional walk-in slots will be available on the night. First come first served.
This is an open stage night for electronic and experimental musicians, aimed at giving local artists a supportive space in which to play live and experiment. Open to all forms of electronic/experimental music including: ambient, chiptune, drone, drum & bass, dub, electronica, electropop, experimental hip-hop, field recordings, glitch, house, industrial, looping, noise, soundscape, synthwave, techno, trance & more!
Get out of your home studio or bedroom, and come out to a fun, supportive night with other enthusiastic tech heads, dabblers and music fans. You don’t need to be an established artist with a full repertoire. This is for anyone who wants to try their hand at playing live in a safe, motivating environment.
Computers, digital boxes, DJ controllers, drum machines, gadgets, groove boxes, keyboard synths, loop stations, modular synths, phone apps, samplers, sequencers… and everything in between. All welcome!
Come out and meet other music makers, producers and creative types from all walks of music making. There should be plenty of time to talk gear, production techniques and a whole range of inspiring ideas.
Take to The Ferret stage with full live-music PA & sound engineer. We will have a table for you to setup on, and another one to the side, for the next performer to prep their gear. In order for the event to run smoothly, we ask that you prepare a mono or stereo mix of your setup before handing your outputs over to us; we will not be able to mix your outputs for you in the given time. Vocal mics & mic stands available.
Sorry – no acoustic guitars – unless they are being used to generate soundscapes or some other style of music in keeping with the night (e.g. through pedals, FX units etc.)
Additionally, feel free to bring a USB stick containing visuals you’d like to be projected during your set.

Vi siktar på att köra 8 artister med en max speltid på 15 minuter per artist samt ytterligare 15 minuters presentation inkl changeover till nästa artist. Eventet kommer även att streama live över YouTube för en internationell publik.

Skicka med en kort bio, samt ett par låtar i den stil som ni hade tänkt framföra. Musikexempel är enbart till för att vi ska kunna planera kvällens akter i ett trevligt flöde för alla. Vi gör alltså inga artistiska bedömningar utan ALLA får spela i mån av tid och utrymme. Notera dock att fokus är på elektronisk musik och kompositioner i dess huvudform.

EMOM (Electronic Music Open Mic) is a grassroots movement that started in England in 2017 by Martin Christie. The concept is simple: provide a platform/stage for local electronic musicians to perform live. The event is open to everyone, regardless of the style of electronic music performed—be it ambient, techno, experimental, house, synth. The focus is on newcomers to the scene.

A community hub for creative people in music and other arts, a place where collaboration is born, ideas thrive, other projects sprout, and friendships are made.

Whether this will be your first time playing outside of your house, or you are a seasoned pro, you are welcome to come and play for us.
We don’t really like rules, so the only rule is that it has to be electronic music. That’s the only qualifying criteria, there’s no selection process and no standard that has to be met, if you ask to play and we have space, then you are playing.

This is a place where experimentation thrives, so let your imagination run wild!

Performers are invited to bless us with a 15-minute set, and slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
The running order is decided on the night, although we can accommodate requests by message if you need to be on early or late etc. due to the likes of work commitments or the fact you are travelling from afar.

To secure your spot, we recommend pre-booking by sending us a message, as our slots tend to fill up quickly. However, if space is available walk ins will be welcomed.

The Artisan Tap provides the perfect backdrop for our sonic exploration, with its awesome ambiance and ideal setting.
As an artist, you are encouraged to bring any merchandise you have, which can be displayed and sold in one of the rooms.

Additionally, feel free to bring a USB stick containing visuals you’d like to be projected during your set.

Join us on the Last Thursday of every month from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM for an evening dedicated to the UK’s grassroots electronic scene.
Whether you are a seasoned producer or an emerging artist, we provide a welcoming space to share your sound and connect with a dedicated community. We are proud to be part of the West Midlands’ surging electronic movement, highlighting Birmingham as a unique and original hub for independent talent.
Like what you hear but don’t know where to begin? Why not come along and have a drink and a chat with others who are friendly and always happy to share their experience and knowledge. Even if you’re not interested in playing but love the music then you’re more than welcome!

For the Sheffield EMOM, hosting a larger event to cater for a wider range of extended, curated performances whilst including some of the scene’s better known artists seemed like the next logical step. Taking place on the first Wednesday of every month this is an open stage night for London based electronic and experimental musicians. This night is aimed at giving local artists a supportive space in which to play live and experiment, and socialise with like minded people.

Seeking all forms of electronic/experimental music including: ambient, soundtrack, dance, techno, noise, electropop, drone, glitch, experimental hip-hop, field recordings, electrojazz, chiptune, looping, synthwave, trance, live coding, sound design, etc.

The focus is on London and area based artists.

Get out of your home studio or bedroom, and come out to a fun, supportive night with other enthusiastic tech heads, dabblers and music fans.
